Oliver developed a passion for investing in university while picking stocks as Chair of the Queen’s University Investment Counsel. After graduation, his career took him to New York, where he worked in investment banking and private equity, and was actively involved in the acquisition of several private companies. During this experience, he learned the skills of in-depth, bottom-up fundamental analysis and developed an appreciation for the paramount importance of meeting with companies to assess the quality of their management teams. Attracted by Burgundy’s long-term, value-driven investment philosophy, Oliver returned to Canada to join Burgundy’s small- and mid-cap equities team in 2016.
