William Honce, CFA, CAIA

William was brought up in a teacher's home, where he developed a love for teaching early on and an insatiable curiosity. Entering college with a mind split three ways between economics, law, and mathematics, William chose a field of study that combined the three, Actuarial Science. He spent the first part of his career at a major consulting firm in investment consulting. In this role, he was able to hone his teaching, portfolio construction and relationship management skills with a large swath of institutional investors. This experience proved invaluable when he switched over to an asset manager in a business development role. His current role at Burgundy as Senior Relationship Manager allows him to practice what he loves the most, building relationships through a consultative teaching approach and helping institutional investors achieve their investment goals. Teaching investment concepts and explaining investment decisions to clients remains to this day his favourite part of the job.

Outside of work, you can usually find William on mountains, on a bike in the summer, and on skis in the winter. William is also a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens, but don’t hold that against him.
