Achilleas first developed an appreciation for market discipline as a teenager in Greece, witnessing firsthand the euphoria and subsequent fallout of the local stock market bubble in the late ’90s.

His interest in investing grew during university, when an internship at a value investing firm in Germany introduced him to the philosophy. Convinced that buying businesses at a discount to intrinsic value was the most sustainable way to compound wealth while navigating market manias, he continued to deepen his understanding as he pursued a career in Canadian equities. Achilleas was attracted to Burgundy for its long-term approach to investing, commitment to fundamental, bottom-up research, and attention to both business quality and valuation.
